GEMET 343

 

Gemet 343 is high Niobium-Chromium Carbide alloy specially designed to resist high stress grinding abrasion wear with moderate impact, even at elevated temperatures of 450° C. The deposit will exhibit surface relief checks.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Basic coated SMAW electrode for hardfacing.
  • Surfacing of parts subjected to heavy abrasion with moderate impact.
  • Service temperature: max. 450°C.
  • Quiet and regular fusion.

TYPICAL APPLICATION :

Cement presses, brick presses, refractory press-screws, conveyor screws, mixer blades, palm nut press-screws, etc.

C, Si, Cr, Nb

WELD METAL PROPERTIES :

  • Structure: Austenite with Nb & Cr carbides
  • Hardness:
    • 1 layer : 62 HRc approx
    • 2 layer : 63 HRc approx
    • 3 layer : 64 HRc approx
  • Machinability…….By grinding

REDRYING: Min. 1 hr at 300°C
