Copper – Phosphorus brazing filler metal with high silver content, showing good thin-flowing characteristics. High ductility even at low temperatures.
Capillary brazing of copper-copper joints which are subjected to severe loading in apparatus, electromotor and pipework construction, on heat exchagers, in refrigeration engineering, for joints operating at very low temperatures, on pipe work subjected to vibrations and severe alternating thermal stress. Brazing of Cu-Zn and Cu-Sn alloys, gun metal. For brazed joints operating at temperatures up to 1500C. Unsuitable for use in sulphurous environments, as well as on Fe and Ni alloys.
- Clean the soldering/brazing zones
- Apply flux if necessary
- Heat the workpiece right through over a wide area to a dull red.
- Melt off the tip of the rod and draw the solder along with the flame.
